Established in 2008, DGC has been providing exceptional enrichment and leadership development opportunities to youth in the Tri-County area. Our program offers a chance to create unique experiences through various educational and leadership activities, including small-group mentorship and peer cohorts.

At DGC, we believe in providing a well-rounded curriculum that prepares young men for the real world. That's why our curriculum is tailored to critical areas that we believe are essential for youth development, including college and career readiness, leadership, and healthy relationships. By providing mentorship and education in these areas, we hope to create young men who will become leaders in their communities.

There are several incentives and rewards in place for each member that follows the expectations set by the program. The members enjoy gatherings at the bowling alley, skating rink, movie theatres, etc. as a result of good behavior and good character. All of these, of course, is predicated on the progress and growth of the club members.

The Distinguished Gentlemen’s Club also has several events that are planned each year for the boys:

LYS Kickoff
A jump start to the year where our members and families come together to celebrate a new year of service and mentorship.

LYS Awards and Induction Ceremony

This is a recognition ceremony for the boys who committed to the success of the program throughout the year with consistent participation at monthly sessions and community service projects and recognizing each child for their academic successes. After applicants complete the required process, they will officially be recognized as a Distinguished Gentleman via a ceremony. There are two ceremonies yearly at the end of the semester.

DGC Retreat
This is a celebration of a completed year for all the boys who maintain participation throughout the year with monthly sessions & community service while maintaining responsibilities with home and school expectations.

Club Meetings
Every second Saturday during the Club Year (September - May) the DGC has its monthly Club Meetings. These meetings are times when the mentors and mentees come together for the purpose of learning special skills based on the theme and curriculum of the month. There is normally a Parent Advisory Council meeting that happens simultaneously.

Community Service Projects
Community Service is a big part of being a member of the DGC. Our members have a yearly service requirement of 18 hours. These hours can be earned during group Community Service Projects or on an individual basis.

Outings
We aren't ALWAYS working! Sometimes, we get together for fun outings where our young men get to let loose and have a good time! These can include trips to the movies, parks, cookouts, or even trips.

Step 1: Fill out the Application

To begin the enrollment process for your child please complete the CANDIDATE APPLICATION. Once the application is completed, you will be notified of the open enrollment meeting. At the meeting, you and your child will be part of an interview process.

Step 2: Open Enrollment Meeting & Interview Process

At the meeting, we will share information about the requirements of being in the program. You will have an interview with a DGC Mentor or Leadership team member. During this interview, the interviewer will ask questions to better understand why he wants to be part of DGC and how we can help your child.

Step 3: Induction

At the end of the semester, prospects who complete the necessary requirements will participate in the Distinguished Gentlemen's Induction Ceremony. During this ceremony, the prospect will be introduced as an official member of the Distinguished Gentlemen's Club. They will receive their club regalia (bowtie and DGC polo shirt) as well as recite the Gentleman's Creed along with fellow inductees.

After induction, they are now official "Gentlemen" and are qualified for retreats and DGC Awards.

Is my child guaranteed to be accepted as an applicant?

No. Each child is subject to rejection from the program if the child isn't willing to actively participate in the program. There is a cap on the number of applicants we can accept and therefore, we must make sure that the accepted applicants are taking the program seriously.
