DISTINGUISHED GENTLEMEN'S CLUB

CHANGING BOYS INTO GENTLEMEN

Are you ready to help young men become natural-born leaders? Join the Distinguished Gentlemen's Club (DGC), a mentoring program for boys in grades 3-12 focused on community leadership.

Since 2008, DGC has provided enriching leadership development opportunities in the Tri-County area. Our program includes small-group mentorship and peer cohorts, offering unique educational experiences.

We believe in a well-rounded curriculum that equips young men with essential college and career readiness skills, leadership, and healthy relationships. Through mentorship and education, we aim to cultivate future community leaders.

THE GENTLEMEN'S CREED

I AM A GENTLEMAN,
I am a part of a BROTHERHOOD of positive men,
I am true to my GOD, my COMMUNITY, and MYSELF,
I have INTELLIGENCE, CLASS, and DIGNITY,
I will set and achieve my GOALS,
I will carry myself in a way that reflects my MORALS and VALUES,
I will respect my BROTHERS, ELDERS, LADIES, and MYSELF,
I AM the FUTURE,
I AM a DISTINGUISHED GENTLEMAN.

There are several incentives and rewards in place for each member that follows the expectations set by the program. The members enjoy gatherings at the bowling alley, skating rink, movie theatres, etc. as a result of good behavior and good character. All of these, of course, is predicated on the progress and growth of the club members.

The Distinguished Gentlemen’s Club also has several events that are planned each year for the boys:

LYS Kickoff
A jump start to the year where our members and families come together to celebrate a new year of service and mentorship.

LYS Awards and Induction Ceremony

This is a recognition ceremony for the boys who committed to the success of the program throughout the year with consistent participation at monthly sessions and community service projects and recognizing each child for their academic successes. After applicants complete the required process, they will officially be recognized as a Distinguished Gentleman via a ceremony. There are two ceremonies yearly at the end of the semester.

DGC Retreat
This is a celebration of a completed year for all the boys who maintain participation throughout the year with monthly sessions & community service while maintaining responsibilities with home and school expectations.
